Conor McGregor Confirms Mayweather Fight Is A Go, Uses Opportunity To Destroy Floyd

UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has confirmed he will be fighting Floyd “Money” Mayweather in his next fight.

On Wednesday, McGregor confirmed the fight was official in a tweet making fun of the boxing legend.

McGregor wrote, “THE FIGHT IS ON” in a tweet accompanied by a photo of himself and a photo of Floyd Mayweather Sr.

In his latest attempts of trash talking, McGregor has made Mayweather’s age his primary focus. Mayweather is currently 40 years old, while McGregor is 28.

The boxing match between the two is scheduled to take place Aug. 26 in Las Vegas. No venue has been officially announced for the fight, but it is safe to assume it will take place at either the MGM Grand or T-Mobile Arena.

Mayweather will be fighting in his 50th professional boxing match when he comes out of retirement to fight McGregor. He is currently undefeated with 49 wins. McGregor will be making his professional boxing debut when he steps into the ring with the all-time boxing great.
