Boxing coach Angelo Reyes, a student of legendary boxing coach Freddie Roach, doesn’t think UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will last three rounds against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
McGregor is set to make his professional boxing debut against Mayweather, who is currently undefeated with 49 wins.
“Mayweather will knock him out in three (rounds) or less,” Reyes told MMAjunkie Radio. “Everybody thinks, ‘Oh, well, Floyd is just going to dance around.’ Not in this fight. And he doesn’t dance around. I don’t think he dances around anyway. You have to truly understand the craft of boxing to really understand what he does.”
Last week, it was officially announced Mayweather will come out of retirement to fight the UFC champion. The two will compete in a 12-round fight that will be contested at 154 pounds.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
