The 2017 UFC fighter summit did not go without its controversy. During the athlete retreat, UFC strawweight Angela Magana and former Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino had a confrontation. After trash talking “Cyborg” over social media in the weeks leading to the retreat, the fighter was faced with the former champion during the summit.
After “Cyborg” struck Magana, police were called to the scene. Magana later elected to press charges against Cristiane Justino.
As reported by MMA Weekly, Cristiane Justino has entered a plea of not guilty to the charges of battery. Justino is due back inside the courtroom in August.
Megan Anderson and “Cyborg” will be facing off for the UFC featherweight title at UFC 214 on July 29.
