UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier believes former champion Jon Jones has been using performance-enhancing drugs throughout his UFC career.
Cormier talked about Jones past with PED’s while doing an interview on FOX Sports 1.
“You heard Alexander Gustafsson now is saying he believes that Jon was enhanced throughout his career,” Cormier said. “But before, we had no sanctioning body like USADA. USADA now is on top of all that, so I do believe that we will see a different fighter in Anaheim, because I do believe he’ll have to be clean this time, otherwise he’ll be caught.”
Last July, Cormier was scheduled to defend his title against Jones. However, just days before the fight was scheduled to take place, Jones tested positive for a banned substance. Jones claims the failed drug test was due to taking a sexual male enhancement pill.
“I think he fought Ovince Saint Preux clean, and he didn’t like the way he felt and tried to do something again dirty and he got caught at UFC 200,” Cormier said.
Cormier is once again scheduled to defend his championship against Jones. The two are set to compete in the main event of UFC 214 on July 29.
