UFC President Dana White is not happy with UFC Flyweight Champion Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.
White talked about being upset with Johnson on a recent episode of the UFC Unfiltered podcast.
White wants to book a fight between Johnson and former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw. Johnson does not want to take the fight because Dillashaw has never fought in the flyweight division. Instead, Johnson wants to defend his title against Ray Borg, who is a top contender in the division.
“For the first time ever, I have a fight with Demetrious Johnson where is on his way to break the record, Anderson Silva’s record, for most title defenses, and TJ Dillashaw can’t fight Cody “No Love” because Cody messed up his back. Cody isn’t going to be back for a while. So he’s (Dillashaw) like ‘I can make this weight’ and I’m going to stop him from breaking that record,” White said.
“DJ doesn’t want to fight him. It’s insanity.”
White went on to say Johnson’s next fight will be the first time he gets pay-per-view points for his fight, and it’s crazy Johnson wouldn’t want to fight Dillashaw, who would result in more pay-per-view buys than Borg.
White also says Dillashaw deserves a flyweight title shot more than Borg.
“Unfortunately for DJ, he doesn’t make the fights around here. I do,” White said.
