The highly anticipated welterweight bout between former UFC Welterweight Champion Robie Lawler and Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone has been postponed.
Cerrone has suffered an injury forcing him to withdraw from his scheduled fight against Lawler at UFC 213 on July 8.
Cerrone will now likely fight Lawler at UFC 214 on July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
This is the second time a proposed bout with Lawler and Cerrone has been postponed. The two were briefly scheduled to fight at UFC 205 back in November. However, Lawler withdrew from the fight because he needed more time to recover from his recent knockout loss.
In his last fight, Lawler lost his UFC championship after being knocked out by current UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley back in July.
Cerrone is also coming off a knockout loss. In January, he was defeated by Jorge Masvidal by TKO.
