Boxing world champion Errol Spence was not impressed with the leaked sparring footage of UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
McGregor is currently preparing to make his professional boxing debut. He is set to compete against boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
In the sparring footage, McGregor is sparring against professional boxer Chris van Heerden. In 2015, Spence defeated Heerden by TKO.
“Guys who have dedicated their lives to it (boxing) can’t beat Floyd. You think a guy that has been boxing for a year, and if you watch his sparring match with the guy that I beat, you know he looked like trash,” Spence said. “You think he’s going to beat Floyd Mayweather? I don’t see it at all.”
After two years away from the sport of boxing, Mayweather is coming out of retirement to fight for the 50th time in his illustrious career. He is putting his perfect 49-0 record on the line as he competes against the debuting UFC champion.
Mayweather vs. McGregor takes place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
