Floyd Mayweather Calls Top Ranked UFC Lightweight To Help Him Prepare For McGregor

Floyd “Money” Mayweather has sought help from one of the UFC’s best lightweight in preparation for his boxing match against UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

Mayweather offered to pay UFC lightweight Kevin Lee to come spar with him, but Lee declined in order to focus on his next fight.

Lee is scheduled to fight lightweight contender Michael Chiesa on Sunday at a UFC Fight Night event in Oklahoma City.

“I’m about my own bread. I even said that about the richest fight in combat sports history. They hit me up about two weeks ago to go out and help Floyd spar, but I got my own business that I got to take care of,” Lee said on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.

Lee said he would get paid more to fight Chiesa than to help Mayweather prepare for his fight. However, after his fight on Sunday, Lee may join Mayweather’s team.

“Even though he was going to pay me, it wasn’t as much as I’m going to make for this one. After the fight, I might go back and help out Floyd. We’ll see what happens,” Lee said.
