Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is confident his next fight will be against UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.
“I’m positive it will happen,” St-Pierre said in an interview with TSN about a potential fight against the middleweight champion.
St-Pierre said he recently talked to UFC President Dana White. After the conversation, St-Pierre said he likes the chances of him getting a title shot against Bisping.
The UFC had originally made a title fight between St-Pierre and Bisping, but the fight was canceled due to St-Pierre not being able to fight until November.
However, Bisping is also suffering from a lingering knee injury which is going to keep him out of action until the end of the year.
With both fighters not being able to fight until the end of 2017, both fighters have shown interest in fighting each other.
With Bisping being injured, the UFC is creating an interim middleweight title. At UFC 213, on July 8, top contenders Yoel Romero and Robert Whittaker will fight for the championship.
