While most of the combat sports’ world is talking about the highly anticipated boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor, the UFC’s most anticipated fight of the year is taking place next month.
On July 29, at UFC 214, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his championship against former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones.
In the video below, you can relive the history and bad blood between the two best 205-pound fighters in the world.
Cormier was scheduled to defend his title last July at UFC 200, against Jones. However, just days before the fight, Jones was forced to withdraw after testing positive for a banned substance.
Jones claims the failed test was due to a sexual male-enhancement pill but was still suspended for one year.
Jones has been almost perfect in his MMA career. He only has one disqualification loss. He managed to defend his light heavyweight title on eight different occasions. His last successful title defense was a win over Cormier.
Cormier’s only loss in his MMA career was against Jones. He has defended his title twice. In his last fight, he submitted Anthony Johnson back in April.
