UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo thinks interim champion Max Holloway is scared going into their title fight.
“He’s (expletive) scared. He never fought under this pressure,” Aldo told MMA Fighting. “He gets nervous when the crowd puts pressure over him. It’s all lies. He doesn’t want to show (he’s scared).”
Aldo said he could tell how intimidated Holloway is when the two went face-to-face.
“He never went through this,” Also said. “He never experienced a fight like this, so important. Everything is new to him. You can see his attitude is different face to face. He’s nervous, you can see. He’s trying to show something he’s not.”
Aldo will fight Holloway in the main event of UFC 212 on June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This will be Aldo’s first title defense in his second reign as UFC featherweight champion.
Holloway is going into this title fight on a 10-fight win streak in the UFC, which is the biggest UFC win streak for any fighter going into a title fight in UFC history.
