On Saturday, two of the best heavyweights in the world will collide as Mark Hunt fights Derrick Lewis in the main event of a UFC Fight Night show in Singapore.
In preparation for the fight, UFC commentator Joe Rogan sat down and shared his thoughts on this pivotal heavyweight fight.
“Derrick Lewis versus Mark Hunt is a heavyweight dream fight,” Rogan said. “If you like to see slugfests, this is a fight for you.”
Lewis is currently ranked No. 6 in the official UFC heavyweight rankings. He is on a six-fight win streak, with five of those wins coming by knockout or TKO.
In his last fight, Lewis picked up the biggest win of his MMA career. In February, Lewis knocked out longtime heavyweight contender Travis Browne.
Hunt is ranked No. 7 in the UFC. He is coming off a loss to heavyweight contender Alistair Overeem. He has notable UFC wins over Ben Rothwell, Cheick Kongo, Stefan Struve, Roy Nelson, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva, and Frank Mir.
