Former Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristinae ‘Cyborg” Justino and UFC strawweight Angela Magana had a confrontation at the recent 2017 UFC fighter summit. Now, former UFC bantamweight champion Miesha Tate has weighed in her thoughts on the situation.
After weeks of trash talking over social media, Angela Magana came face to face with “Cyborg” at the athlete retreat. After Justino struck Magana, the police were called. Magana then elected to press charges on her attacker.
In a recent media scrum, as transcribed by MMA Fighting, Miesha Tate explained that she is totally “team Cyborg.”
“That was a great day for me, I thought it was wonderful. I wish she would have punched Angela harder. Angela is a bully, you know? She’s like a child who never grew up.”
“It’s not right. And I think that there should be harsher consequences for people who publicly bully people on the internet in person, everything. So, I think she had it coming, and I don’t blame Cyborg a bit.” Tate explained.
As far as Magana pressing charges on Justino, Tate stated “I hope that the legal system looks at everything, because [Magana] really had it coming. So I’m Team Cyborg all the way with that.”
