Former UFC title challenger Nick Diaz doesn’t think anyone should count out UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor in his upcoming boxing match against Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
McGregor will make his professional boxing debut when he steps into the ring with Mayweather. After two-years of being retired, Mayweather is returning to the sport and putting his perfect record of 49-0 on the line.
“Don’t count anyone out,” Diaz said about the highly anticipated boxing match. “You have a lot of stipulations you can look at. You can’t just jump on a hype train on either one.”
Diaz went on to say that there is more money to be made in boxing than in MMA. Even if you’re competing in MMA, there is more money in fighting like a boxer compared to other disciplines.
Diaz also suggested he will not be fighting anytime soon. He is taking the next few years to focus on other things in his life before he thinks about fighting again.
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
