On Saturday, Derek Brunson brutally knocked out Dan Kelly in the co-main event of a UFC Fight Night in Auckland, New Zealand.
Brunson waited a short amount time to produce damage onto Kelly in their pivotal middleweight fight. In the first round of their fight, Brunson dropped Kelly with a devasting left hand. He followed his knockout blow with a couple shots on the ground before the referee stepped in and awarded Brunson the knockout victory.
Brunson got back into the win column in a big way following his controversial loss in February. At UFC 208, Brunson lost a controversial decision to former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva.
With his win over Kelly, Brunson is once again one of the top title contenders in the middleweight division. Going into this fight, Brunson was ranked No. 8 in the official UFC middleweight rankings.
