On Saturday, Michael Chandler lost his Bellator Lightweight Championship after suffering a leg injury early in his fight.
At Bellator: NYC Chandler defended his title against undefeated Brent Primus.
Early in the fight, Chandler’s left leg was severely injured after a leg kick. Chandler continued the fight despite the injury and even managed to knock Primus down with a punch.
Both fighters fought back and forth, while Chandler struggled to stand on his feet. Eventually, the referee stopped the fight in order to have a doctor check on Chandler. The referee then stopped the fight awarding Primus the TKO victory and the Bellator Lightweight Championship.
