The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is looking to add live statistics to their mixed martial arts broadcasts. In Major League Baseball live statistics are a ready and available resource for any sports fan. Now, it may soon be a luxury for fight fans as well.
UFC President Dana White spoke on stage at the Cannes Lions marketing bash “Survival of the Fittest,” in which the president broke down some of the ideas the UFC was considering.
As transcribed by the New York Post, Dana White stated, “We’re working on a lot of stats. We want to see the best knock out — its perfect for social media.”
The president then added that sensors will be potentially used to detect the speed of a strike in real time and the number of punches a fighter is landing.
