The UFC may be trying to sell their entire flyweight division.
Reports are spreading that the UFC is searching for a promotion willing to buy their entire 125-pound division, which includes the UFC’s most dominant champion Demetrious Johnson.
Johnson recently revealed that he has been threatened by the UFC in the past in regards to the promotion giving up on the weight class.
Johnson and the UFC recently butted heads over the promotion trying to get Johnson to defend his title against former UFC Bantamweight Champion TJ Dillashaw. Johnson refused to take the fight because Dillashaw has never fought in the weight class.
Johnson, along with former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, currently holds the record for the most consecutive title defenses in UFC history with 10. Johnson has been the UFC flyweight champion since the promotion adopted the division back in 2012.
The UFC’s flyweight division includes fighters such as Joseph Benavidez, Henry Cejudo, Sergio Pettis, Ray Borg, Ian McCall, and Brandon Moreno.
