One of the head writers of Saturday Night Live, Bryan Tucker, has paid tribute to UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.
McGregor has made many national headlines for the announcement of his professional boxing debut. The UFC champion will fight Floyd “Money” Mayweather in a 12-round boxing match.
On his website The Kicker, Tucker poked fun at McGregor by saying he will be challenging himself against one of the best athletes in another sport.
“In what is being billed as ‘the biggest event in the history of women’s gymnastics’, MMA fighter Conor McGregor has agreed to take on Simone Biles in a “one night take all” event,” Tucker wrote.
Biles is an Olympic gold medalist in the sport of gymnastics. At age 20, Biles is one of the greatest Americans to ever compete in the sport.
Tucker also poked fun at the amount of money McGregor will make in his next fight compared to Mayweather.
“McGregor will receive $150 million to take on the twenty-year-old gold medalist. Biles will receive $200,000,” Tucker wrote.
Tucker even made fun of McGregor’s boxing coach Owen Roddy. In Tucker’s story, Roddy talks about McGregor’s quick progress in the sport of gymnastics.
“He’s getting there. He can already do a pretty mean cartwheel. I think he’ll be up to gold medal level in a week or two.”
