UFC Heavyweight Champion Stipe Miocic would like to test his skills in boxing against a world champion.
On Wednesday, it was confirmed that UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor will make his professional boxing debut against boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather.
Shortly after the fight was confirmed, Miocic went to Twitter to call out heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua. He challenged Joshua to a fight on the undercard of Mayweather vs. McGregor.
“Let’s have a proper tussle and still have time for tea and crumpets before the main event!” Miocic said in a tweet directed at Joshua.
Miocic is coming off of his second consecutive title defense as heavyweight champion. Last month, at UFC 211, Miocic knocked out former UFC Heavyweight Champion Junior dos Santos.
Last year, Miocic won the UFC title by knocking out former champion Fabricio Werdum. He made his first title defense in his hometown of Cleveland and knocked out Alistair Overeem.
Hey @anthonyfjoshua let's have a proper tussle and still have time for tea and crumpets before the main event! #MayweatherMcGregor
