Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva have been involved in one of the most heated rivalries in all of MMA for the better part of a decade.
Their rivalry began back when Sonnen was challenging Anderson Silva for his middleweight title. During the lead up to his title fight, Sonnen would often insult the country of Brazil while trash talking the then-UFC champion.
Sonnen’s comments also upset other Brazilian fighters, such as Wanderlei Silva.
Eventually, the two coached opposite of each other on the first Brazilian season of The Ultimate Fighter.
While filming the show, the two got into a fight. Sonnen was trying to talk to Silva, but Silva had so much hatred for Sonnen he immediately began starting a fight.
In the video below, you can watch the entire altercation go down. After Silva tries smacking Sonnen in the head, Sonnen takes him down and both fighters began throwing punches.
Unfortunately, the two fighters never got to fight in the UFC. However, this Saturday, at Bellator: NYC, Sonnen and Silva will finally get a chance to fight each other in New York City.
