Former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Tito Ortiz recently responded to fellow former champion Chuck Liddell calling him out.
Last Saturday night, Liddell posted a photo of him and Ortiz going face to face with the caption “Why not?”
On Sunday morning, Ortiz responded to Liddell’s callout.
“Because I don’t need the money,” Ortiz said on Twitter. “Suck that you need the money. I can lend you some cash if so.”
Liddell has recently come out and said he is interested in making a return to the sport of MMA.
However, Ortiz retired from the sport following a submission win over Chael Sonnen back in January at Bellator 170.
Liddell has two victories over Ortiz in the UFC. In 2004, Liddell knocked out Ortiz in their first meeting. In 2006, the two fought again with Liddell winning by TKO.
Liddell vs. Ortiz 2 was the biggest fight in MMA history at the time. It was the first ever UFC pay-per-view to sell over 1 million buys. To this day, it is still one of the highest grossing fights in UFC history.
