Top Featherweight Contender Calls Out Frankie Edgar

UFC featherweight contender Ricardo Lamas is interested in a fight with fellow featherweight contender, and former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar.

Lamas talked about the possibility of fighting Edgar while making an appearance on Luke Thomas’ radio show.

“That is the highest profiled fight I can ask for,” Lamas said about a fight with Edgar. “It would definitely be a number one contender fight. So if he would be down for it, I would be too.”

Lamas was briefly scheduled to fight “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung at UFC 214 on July 29.

Lamas said even though he wants a fight with Edgar, it is more important for him to fight as soon as possible, and he wants to stay on the UFC 214 card.

Lamas is coming off a submission win over Charles Oliveira last November.

Edgar is coming off a dominant performance over Yair Rodriguez last month at UFC 211.
