Former title challengers Claudia Gadelha and Karolina Kowalkiewicz had an intense staredown on Friday during the UFC 212 ceremonial weigh-ins.
Gadelha will fight Kowalkiewicz in the co-main event of UFC 212 on June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
When the two women went face to face during the weigh-ins things appeared to be civil, but that ended when UFC personnel tried to separate the two. After their first attempt of separating the fighters, neither fighter moved an inch. UFC personnel tried separating them for a second time, and still, neither fighter would move. In the end, both fighters had to be pulled away from each other.
In the video below, you can watch the intense staredown between the two strawweight contenders.
Both fighters have been near perfect in their MMA careers. Both women have only lost to UFC Women’s Strawweight Champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk. This pivotal fight on Saturday will prove which woman is more deserving of another shot against the champion.
