UFC 214 was looking to be one of the most stacked UFC cards of the year.
However, less than two months away, UFC 214 has lost one of its marquee fights.
“The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung has suffered an injury and is forced to withdraw from his scheduled fight with former title challenger Ricardo Lamas.
Jung vs. Lamas would have been a pivotal fight between two of the top featherweight contenders in the UFC.
Jung is coming off a stunning knockout win over Dennis Bermudez in February.
In Lamas’ last fight, he submitted Charles Oliveira back in November.
This is the second time a scheduled fight between the two has been canceled. Back in 2012, the two were scheduled to fight, but the fight was canceled due to Jung instead getting a title shot against Jose Aldo. Lamas was also given a title opportunity after Aldo defeated Jung.
UFC 214 takes place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier will defend his title against former champion Jon Jones in the main event.
