The UFC made its long-awaited return to Oklahoma City for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.
The event featured a combination of former champions, top contenders, and rising prospects.
The preliminary portion of the card was headlined by Clay Guida making his return to the lightweight division. Guida returned to the division to fight Erik Koch.
Both fighters struggled to land on each other early in the fight, but neither fighter was hesitant to throw. Guida later shot for a takedown. After struggling against the cage, Guida briefly got the fight to the ground. Koch fought his way back up. The round ended with both fighters throwing haymakers.
Guida landed a hard punch and followed it with a powerful takedown early in the second round. Guida secured top position over his opponent. Guida then took full mount and threw a plethora of punches on the ground. While on top, Guida continued to throw ground-and-pound to the head and body for the remainder of the round.
Neither fighter had much success in the first minute of the final round. Guida shot for a takedown but Koch managed to stay on his feet. Guida then held Koch against the cage and fought to get the fight to the ground. Eventually, Guida got the fight to the ground. Guida suffocated Koch and threw punches on the ground. Guida gained full mount and continued to rain down punches and the final moments of the fight.
