On Saturday the UFC returned to Singapore with an exciting Fight Night event featuring a plethora of former champions and top contenders.
In the main event, former UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Holly Holm is set to do battle against former title challenger Bethe Correia.
Before the elite bantamweights square off, the UFC once again presented a full day’s worth of intriguing matches.
On the prelims, welterweights Li Jingliang and Frank Camacho were given an opportunity to shine on MMA’s biggest stage.
Camacho rocked Jingliang with one of the first punches he landed in the fight. Jingliang seemed to recover but Camacho continued to test his opponent’s chin. Jingliang went for a takedown, but Camacho managed to get Jingliang down. Camacho decided to allow Jingliang back to his feet. Camacho once again rocked his opponent, but Jingliang had no problem eating the punch and retaliating. In the final minute, Jingliang briefly got Camacho to the ground. At the end of the round, Jingliang landed another takedown and went for a rear-naked choke but ran out of time.
Both fighters traded kicks and punches to start the middle round. Jingliang went for a takedown but was unsuccessful. Jingliang began to be more successful with his combinations. As the round went on, Camacho seemed to become fatigued. Jingliang went for a takedown at the end of the round, but Camacho stayed on his feet.
Jingliang landed punches and kicks at will to start the final round. Camacho began to be more aggressive and landed many shots of his own. Both fighters traded blows in the center of the cage. Jingliang began to test out Camacho’s chin with brutal straight punches. Jingliang brutalized Camacho’s leg while also cracking his chin. The round ended with Jingliang continuing his onslaught against his opponent.
