The UFC made its long-awaited return to Oklahoma City for a special Sunday edition of UFC Fight Night.
The event featured a combination of former champions, top contenders, and rising prospects.
Middleweights did battle on the prelims as Vitor Miranda fought Marvin Vettori.
Vettori started the fight as the aggressor. Vettori and Miranda exchanged hard punches. Throughout the first half of the round, both fighters had success with their striking. Vettori briefly got the fight to the ground, but Miranda fought his way to his feet at the end of the round.
Miranda went for leg kicks to start the middle round, while Vettori landed combinations with his hands. Vettori then started mixing up his attacks with kicks as well. Vettori was more active, while Miranda hunted for the perfect strike. Vettori managed to secure a takedown. He landed multiple shots on the ground before Miranda fought his way back up. At the end of the round, Vettori landed another takedown.
Miranda was more active with his striking to start the final round. Vettori would through flurries, while Miranda would land hard shots and move away. Miranda was the aggressor on the feet. Both fighters went for takedowns but neither was successful. Vettori took Miranda down in the final minute of the fight. The fight ended with Vettori on top.
