UFC legend Vitor Belfort says he wants a rematch with former UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Chuck Liddell.
“That would be very interesting. Not just for me, but for the fans,” Belfort said about a fight with Liddell. “I think the fans want to see fights that will make interest. People want to pay for something that will motivate them to see it.”
Belfort lost a decision to Liddell back in 2002 at UFC 37.5.
Belfort is fighting Nate Marquart this Saturday at UFC 212.
Belfort’s had originally said his next fight would be his last. However, he has recently changed his mind. Belfort has said he would like to stay in the UFC, but he is also willing to go elsewhere to get the fights he wants.
Along with Liddell, Belfort has shown interest in fighting Wanderlei Silva and Chael Sonnen.
UFC 212 takes place June 3 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. UFC Featherweight Champion Jose Aldo will defend his title in the main event against Interim UFC Featherweight Champion Max Holloway.
