Back in 2013, a ban was place by the Barnett government to do away with the application of cages in mixed martial arts competitions. The ban hindered the growth of mixed martial arts within Australia. However, now it would appear that Western Australia will be removing the ban.
As reported by Fight News Australia, after the implementation of the Western Australia government the McGowan Labor Party moved to legalize the usage of cages in mixed martial arts. On Friday, the ban was officially lifted.
