On Saturday, Daniel Cormier lost his UFC light heavyweight title to Jon Jones.
At UFC 214, Cormier was knocked out for the first time in his MMA career. In the third round, Jones landed a head kicked that dropped the champion. Jones then continued to land punches on the ground until the referee stepped in and awarded Jones the victory.
Cormier was full of emotions following his loss. The former champion cried while doing his post-fight interview. Cormier was clearly devastated by the defeat and said him and Jones don’t have a rivalry since Jones won both of their fights.
In 2015, Jones earned a decision win against Cormier to retain his title.
