Former UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva has challenged former Strikeforce Welterweight Champion Nick Diaz to a rematch.
In Jan. 2015, Silva and Diaz fought in the main event of UFC 183. The fight ended with Silva walking away with a decision win. However, the fight was overturned to a no contest because both fighters failed drug tests.
Silva had tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs, while Diaz tested positive for marijuana use.
On Monday, Silva posted a video on his Instagram account from his fight with Diaz.
“I believe this was one of the best fights in the history of this sport. With all my respect Nick. Let’s show how it’s done. I will wait your reply, maximum respect to the Diaz family,” Silva wrote on his Instagram.
Silva is currently coming off a decision win over middleweight contender Derek Brunson in February.
Diaz has not fought since his fight with Silva and has shown no interest in returning to the sport.
