Professional boxer Jessie Vargas has confirmed UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was recently knocked out during a sparring session.
In a recent interview, Vargas revealed fellow professional boxer Brandon Rios knocked out McGregor while the two were training.
McGregor is currently scheduled to make his professional boxing debut against all-time boxing great Floyd “Money” Mayweather next month.
While Mayweather has almost all of the advantages going into their boxing match, McGregor main attributes in the fight are his punching power and his durability. McGregor has never been knocked out in his MMA career. All of his losses have come by submission.
If McGregor truly did get knocked out by a lesser boxer than Mayweather, he may be in trouble in his next fight.
“Conor is going to get knocked out,” Vargas said. “Floyd always lives up to the hype.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place August 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
