‘Brendan Schaub Paid to Say Conor McGregor Will Beat Floyd’

It appears former UFC heavyweight Brendan Schaub may have been paid to say UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor has a chance at defeating Floyd “Money” Mayweather.

Earlier this month, Mayweather and McGregor took part in a world press tour to promote their fight next month.

Showtime hired Schaub as an analyst during the press conferences and the former UFC fighter constantly talked about McGregor’s chances of pulling off the upset.

Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir doesn’t believe Schaub thinks McGregor will do well against Mayweather and only said McGregor had a chance because he was being paid.

“They were trying to find someone with legitimate credibility that was going to back up (McGregor). Brendan does not believe that Conor has a chance to win one round. Brendan is really intelligent with the fight game and he is being paid to say otherwise,” Mir said.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
