Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) middleweight champion Chris Weidman was facing a three fight losing streak going into last weekend’s main event. The UFC elected to make its debut appearance in Weidman’s own Long Island, New York for UFC on FOX 25 last Saturday night, July 22. In the night’s main event, Chris Weidman faced off against Kevlin Gastelum.
Chris Weidman earned himself a submission victory over his opponent in the third round, pulling the fighter out of his three fight losing streak. Following the impressive performance, Chris Weidman was visibly elated. The former UFC middleweight champion took a moment to hug nearby fans and express his joy with those who nearby who attended the event.
