Conor McGregor Still Training MMA Ahead Of Mayweather Bout

Despite being scheduled to make his professional boxing debut, UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor is still training in MMA.

In a recent interview, McGregor revealed he doesn’t believe he will take much damage in his upcoming fight against Floyd “Money” Mayweather, and he is still training in MMA in preparation for his first UFC title defense.

“I believe I’ll come out of this fight without a scratch,” McGregor said about his boxing match against Mayweather.

“(Take) a couple weeks to refresh my jiu-jitsu and my wrestling. Not that I’ve stopped training that either, I’ve still kept up on that, just less, and then we’ll see what happens.”

McGregor also said he’s interested in fighting lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov in Russia before the end of 2017.

“That’s certainly an option that I’m exploring,” McGregor said about fight Nurmagomedov.

“That would be a spectacle. It’d be like something out of Rocky. I suppose this whole story is like a Rocky story, right? So why not face a man in his home country, and a crazy place like Russia. It’s certainly something I’d like to do. There’s a couple of options on the table so let’s see what unfolds.”

Mayweather will make his professional boxing debut against Mayweather on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
