UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor may have gone too far with his latest trash talk.
On Tuesday, the first press conference for the dream boxing match between McGregor and boxing legend Floyd “Money” Mayweather took place in Los Angeles.
Thousands of people packed the Staples Center to watch McGregor and Mayweather square off for the very first time.
As expected, McGregor wasted no time insulting Mayweather. McGregor’s primary focus was Mayweather’s recent troubles with the IRS.
Also during the press conference, McGregor said something that some people found offensive.
“Dance for me, boy!” McGregor yelled at Mayweather at one point during the press conference.
Chris Broussard, an African American sports analyst for FOX Sports, pointed out that McGregor may need to choose his worlds more wisely.
“”Dance for me, boy!” Ohh, ohh. Does he know what he just said?” Broussard wrote in a tweet.
Tuesday was the first of four press conferences to take place this week. McGregor, along with Mayweather, will travel to Toronto, Brooklyn, and London to promote their upcoming fight.
