Former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light heavyweight champion Jon “Bones” Jones and former Invicta FC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino are getting ready for their shots at the title. Jon Jones will be facing off against Daniel Cormier for the light heavyweight strap, while “Cyborg” takes on Tonya Evinger for the UFC featherweight title.
Now, “Cyborg” Justino has come forward with her thoughts on the fellow former champion. In an interview with Combate, as translated by Bloody Elbow, “Cyborg” compared herself to Jon Jones.
Jon Jones is now coming off of a lengthy suspension from USADA due to an anti-doping policy violation. In 2012, “Cyborg” Justino tested positive for an anabolic steroid.
Justino stated, “My career has had its ups and downs. It’s the same thing with him.”
The fighter continued, “He deserves a second chance. Everybody makes mistakes. I hope Jon Jones wins on Saturday night and becomes a different person from now on, just like he’s been saying he will.”
