D.C. Admits To Making A Big Mistake In Handling Jones Rivalry

UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier admits he’s made some mistakes when it comes to his rivalry with former champion Jon Jones.

This Saturday, Cormier will defend his title against Jones in the main event of UFC 214.

When the fight was first announced, Cormier and Jones appeared at a press conference in Dallas. To Cormier’s surprise, he was not the fan favorite.

In a recent interview with BT Sports, Cormier says he made a mistake by telling people how they should feel about the former champion.

“I made the mistake of telling people how they should feel about him,” Cormier said. “You can’t control anyone’s emotions. They will draw their own conclusions. If they want to cheer for him, fine. I don’t care.”

Due to his actions outside of the Octagon, Jones was not only stripped of his UFC title, but he also has been suspended from the sport for the past year.

UFC 214 will take place July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
