UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier congratulated former champion Jon Jones for no longer being suspended from the sport.
As of July 6, Jones one-year suspension after testing positive for a banned substance has ended.
Last July, Jones failed a drug test given to him by the U.S Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) just days before he was scheduled to fight Cormier for his title.
Jones was forced to withdraw from the fight after failing his drug test. He claims his failed test was due to taking a sexual male enhancement pill.
“Yo (Jon Jones) congrats on ur suspension for steroid abuse getting lifted today. Only a few more weeks now, so please no (expletive) ups. Thanks DC,” Cormier said in a tweet.
Despite not fighting in over a year, Jones will get another shot at the UFC title when he returns to the cage.
Cormier is scheduled to defend his title against Jones in the main event of UFC 214 on July 29 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California.
Yo @JonnyBones congrats on ur suspension for steroid abuse getting lifted today. Only a few more weeks now, so please no fuck ups. Thanks DC
