Dana White: ‘I’m just trying to keep Conor from touching Floyd’

UFC President Dana White recently revealed his role in the world press tour for the upcoming boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor.

In a recent interview, White revealed that his job during the press tour was to keep McGregor from laying his hands on Mayweather.

“Al Haymon gave me specific directions to make sure that Conor McGregor does not touch Floyd Mayweather. I’ll be in the middle,” White said.

In a four-day period, Mayweather and McGregor traveled to four major cities, in three different countries, to hold press conferences to promote their upcoming fight.

On Tuesday, the first press conference was held in Los Angeles. After that, the two elite fighters traveled to Toronto, Brooklyn, and London.

For the most part, White did his job of keeping McGregor from touching Mayweather. But during the final press conference, McGregor rubbed Mayweather’s head while mocking how small it is.

Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
