Newly crowned UFC featherweight champion Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino earned a TKO victory over opponent Tonya Evinger at last night’s UFC 214. Now, the UFC president has revealed whom the new champion should face next.
Shortly after her TKO victory, “Cyborg” voiced who she is interested in fighting next. As transcribed by MMA Weekly, she explained “I’d like to fight Holly Holm. I think she’s a great fighter and she’s a bigger girl like me. She’s fought already at 145 and I think all fans are going to like because she’s a striker. Let’s see that, maybe next.”
Later, UFC President Dana White revealed that he has talked to Holly Holm about setting up a potential bout. White stated, “I was just talking to Holly Holm back there and what do you think Holly? It seems like she’s interested.
“I like Holly vs. Cyborg. I think it’s a good fight.”
