UFC President Dana White destroyed MMA reporter Ariel Helwani with just one tweet.
Recently, a fan sent White a video that suggests Helwani lied to Showtime executive Stephen Espinoza claiming White had said things he hadn’t said.
“Helwani is such a piece of (expletive),” White responded in a tweet. “Guy has no shame, trying to blow Espinoza to work for Showtime. He should have started crying again.”
White referred to an incident that took place in June 2016 at UFC 199. The UFC had revoked the media privileges of Helwani and MMA Fighting at the event. Helwani had broken the news of former UFC Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar returning to the UFC and the promotion was upset he ruined their surprise.
Helwani then talked about the incident during his show, The MMA Hour, and got emotional talking about what had taken place.
Last week, Helwani was pulled from doing Showtime coverage of the world press tour for the highly anticipated boxing match between Floyd “Money” Mayweather and UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor. The UFC had requested Helwani not be part of the coverage.
Helwani is such a piece of shit. Guy has no shame, trying to blow Espinoza to work for Showtime. He should have started crying again.
