Former UFC Bantamweight Champion Dominick Cruz recently broke down UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor’s chances of beating Floyd “Money” Mayweather in a boxing match.
“He realistically has a shot, yes, but I think there is a timeline that he has a shot. I think he has about six rounds to get this done in my opinion. His best shot is going to be within the first six rounds,” Cruz told TMZ.
“Mayweather is coming out of retirement for this. He fighting a guy who has been sharp and on fire right now. So there is another thing to add to the mix, and there is some real change to Conor within six rounds. If this goes 12, I’ll have to give it to Mayweather.”
Cruz then talked about who he wanted to see win the fight but was honest about how he thinks the fight will go down.
“I want to see MMA pull this off, but if I have to go with my intellectual side, I got to say Mayweather is probably going to get it done, and pretty handily.”
Mayweather vs. McGregor will take place Aug. 26 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
