UFC strawweight Felice Herrig wants to fight strawweight contender Michelle “The Karate Hottie” Waterson.
Herrig is currently on a three-fight win streak in the division and believes she deserves to fight someone in ranked in the top 10 of the weight class.
“It makes sense. I mean, Paige isn’t even in the rankings anymore. I think if you see my performance in that fight you see there is a clear-cut difference and there was something not okay with me in that fight. Then you see her performances since then, it doesn’t really make sense to me to fight her, it makes more sense for me to fight Michelle Waterson,” Herrig said on a recent episode of The MMA Hour.
“That would be the fight that I want and I actually believe that is the fight that I deserve. Especially after having it taken away from me. Right now were both in the top 10 and I’m just climbing my way through the ranks. That’s the fight I want.”
Herrig has not lost in the UFC since her decision loss to Paige VanZant in April 2015.
In June, Herrig earned a decision win over previously unbeaten Justine Kish. Herrig’s win streak also includes wins over Kailin Curran and Alexa Grasso.
