Undefeated boxing phenom Floyd Mayweather Jr. has exited his retirement to face off once more inside a boxing ring. This time, the boxer will be taking on Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight champion Conor “Notorius” McGregor in Las Vegas, Nevada on Aug. 26. However, it would appear that the fight may be more important to Mayweather than initially believed.
It was recently reported by BoxingScene.com, that Floyd Mayweather Jr. owes the IRS money for taxes from 2015. In the filing claimed by Floyd, it reads “Although the taxpayer has substantial assets, those assets are restricted and primarily illiquid. The taxpayer has a significant liquidity event scheduled in about 60 days from which he intends to pay the balance of the 2015 tax liability due and outstanding.”
It would appear that Floyd Mayweather would like for the IRS to wait for his earnings from facing McGregor on Aug. 26.
