Justin Gaethje had one of the greatest UFC debuts in the history of the promotion.
On Friday, Gaethje made his UFC debut in the main event of The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale.
Gaethje fought lightweight contender Michael Johnson in a fight that is now a strong fight of the year contender.
Gaethje and Johnson went to war for two rounds. Both fighters had moments where it seemed they were close to finishing their opponent. However, in round two, Gathje stunned Johnson with a brutal combination that led to the referee stepping in and stopping the fight.
Gaethje was so exhausted from his epic battle that when he tried to celebrate by climbing on top of the cage he fell right onto the mat.
In the video below, you can see Gaethje’s embarrassing post-fight celebration.
Despite falling off the cage, Gaethje is now undefeated with 18 wins. With this win, Gaethje has gone from being a prospect in the light division to becoming one of the top contenders.
