UFC Lightweight Champion Conor McGregor was given the opportunity to show off his trash-talking skills on Tuesday.
In Los Angeles, the first press conference for the highly anticipated boxing match between McGregor and Floyd “Money” Mayweather took place at the Staples Center.
Thousands of fans and media filled the arena to watch Mayweather and McGregor square off for the first time. McGregor was the first fighter to get his opportunity on the microphone, and the UFC champion did not hold back.
McGregor immediately attacked Mayweather over claims that he owes taxes to the IRS. He called Mayweather broke. McGregor pointed out that he was wearing a custom suit, while Mayweather was wearing a track suit.

Tuesday was the first of four consecutive press conferences to take place this week. Both McGregor and Mayweather will travel to Toronto, Brooklyn, and London to promote their fight on Aug. 26 in Las Vegas.
