Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is continuing to campaign for a title fight against UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping.
Earlier this year, the UFC announced St-Pierre would return to the sport and fight Bisping. However, with St-Pierre not being able to fight until the end of the year, the UFC canceled the fight.
The UFC canceled the fight even though Bisping is also suffering an injury and cannot fight until the end of the year. Recently, St-Pierre appeared on Bisping’s podcast the two talked about a potential fight.
“I texted Dana and he knows that I want to fight you and hopefully if the boss wants, the fight will happen,” St-Pierre told Bisping.
Bisping responded by saying he wants the fight as well.
“I look forward to fighting you,” Bisping responded. “Hopefully, we can make this happen. You want to fight me, I want to fight you. The interim champion (Robert Whittaker) is sidelined. I don’t see a reason why this shouldn’t happen.”
St-Pierre went on to say that he hopes the two can fight for the middleweight title in November.
