A pivotal fight in the UFC middleweight division will headline this Saturday’s UFC on FOX event.
In the main event, former UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman will fight Kelvin Gastelum.
In the video below, you can watch UFC commentator Joe Rogan break down this exciting fight at 185 pounds.
“Chris Weidman was at one point in time was thought to be perhaps the best middleweight we had ever seen inside the Octagon,” Rogan said.
Weidman is currently on a three-fight losing streak in the UFC. After losing his title to Luke Rockhold in 2015, Weidman has gone on to lose fights to Yoel Romero and Gegard Mousasi. These are the first three losses of his career, and they have all come by knockout or TKO.
“In front of him is a surging fighter in Kelvin Gastelum. He is really showing championship caliber performances inside the Octagon,” Rogan said.
Gastelum is unbeaten as a middleweight in the UFC. He has middleweight wins against Uriah Hall, Nate Marquardt, and Tim Kennedy. In his last fight, he had defeated Vitor Belfort by TKO, but the fight was overturned into a no-contest after Gastelum tested positive for marijuana use.
